FREE Disposal of expired, unwanted, or unused
Pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications

The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is coordinating a collaborative effort with state and local
law enforcement agencies nationwide to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our medicine cabinets. The Red Bluff Police Department is partnering in this effort.

The National Take-Back Initiative Day provides an opportunity for the public to Dispose of
expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications. These drugs are a potential source of supply for illegal use and an unacceptable risk to public health and safety.

A few things to note about this event:
  • The program is anonymous (No identification is required nor will it be asked for).
  • The program is free to participants.
  • Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e. tablets and capsules are accepted.
  • Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original containers.
  • Intra-venous solutions, injectables, and needles and illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not part of this initiative and WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Anyone with questions regarding this program may contact
Lt. Kyle Sanders (Red Bluff Police Department) at 527-8282
or Laura Calkins (Corning Police Department) at 824-7015
