Red Ribbon Week Kick Off

Event Description This a free community-wide event to kick off Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 23-31), a national drug awareness campaign during which communities across the nation take a visible stand against substance abuse by wearing red ribbons and participating in anti-drug events. Winners of a countywide Poster & Essay Contest will be announced with music provided by choirs from Red Bluff High School. There will also be special tribute to law enforcement in honor of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a DEA agent and former Marine whose murder in 1985 at the hands of drug traffickers led to the creation of Red Ribbon Week.
