HALLOWEEN "TREAT STREET" HISTORIC DOWNTOWN RED BLUFF SAFE AND FUN HALLOWEEN DOWNTOWN The Downtown Red Bluff Business Association and many of its business and merchant members have teamed up to provide a safe and fun Halloween adventure for kids 2-5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. It's easy to join in the fun. Simply wear a costume, dig out your candy bag, snag a parent and get ready to stroll downtown Halloween-style. Several businesses are expected to participate in this year's downtown Treat Street route. Be on the look out for special posters in the windows of participating businesses.

Oct 5 - Oct 26    QuickBooks I, II, III, & IV Series (Intro to Using Advanced Features)
This 4-part QuickBooks series begins with how QBs works, getting around, learning common accounting terms used by QBs, creating a new company file, setting preferences, entering new customer, vendors accounts, & items, backing up your data and basic accounting, & reviewing the basic Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow reports. You will learn about working with bank accounts (including how to handle PayPal & Square), reconciling accounts, using other account types (credit cards, loans & fixed assets), entering sales information, receiving payments & making deposits, generating customer statements, entering & paying bills, downloading bank and credit card activity, issuing 1099s, and memorizing transactions. The later series covers, running related financial reports, analyzing financial data, setting up inventory, tracking & paying sales tax, tracking time, customizing forms/letters and overview of more advanced features (syncing contacts, sharing your file electronically with your accountant, exporting to Excel, using the Doc Center, entering budgets, & technical suggestions when you have problems). The trainer is a CPA and QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Training includes manual.

Galactic Garden Center is hosting our first annual scarecrow contest. There will be 3 age groups. 18 & over will have a grand prize of $400, 12-17 yrs will have a grand prize of $100, and under 12 yrs will have a grand prize of $50. There is a $20 entry fee for a team consisting of up to 2 people. You must be registered by the day of the contest at 11am. Galactic Garden Center will supply the scarecrow frame and straw. Contestants need to bring anything they might need to decorate their scarecrow (clothing, hats, accessories).
