Oct 21 - Feb 4    Guided Nature Walks (Butte County)
The CA Dept of Fish and Wildlife, Gray Lodge Wildlife Area (Gridley, CA) hosts 1.5-hour public walking tours, every Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 12:30pm. Known as one of the premier birding spots in northern CA, local experts will lead you on a 1/2-mile stroll, to an elevated viewing deck. Here you will have a bird's-eye view of wildlife. The guide will inform you of wildlife adaptations, natural history, conservation efforts and help you better identify wildlife. Self-guided visits are also welcome. Tours cancel in heavy rain. No reservations are necessary for groups under twelve people. Ranger-led snowshoe walks are an excellent way to explore Lassen in its winter form. Walks are held every Saturday and Sunday Jan. 6- April 1. Walk are open to those 8 years and older and last 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Space is limited; free tickets are available each day inside the visitor center.

California Uniform Retail Food Facility Law requires re-certification of competence in Food Safety and Sanitation every 5 years. Passing the ServSafe® exam is necessary to renew your certification. Training includes the National Restaurant Association ServSafe® exam and Essentials book, answer sheet & certificate. The workshop is recognized by the by the California Health Department & fulfills State Certification obligations. Learn the importance of food safety practices and how to implement them in your food establishment. Our trainer is a State certified. Please contact us and sign up for our next classes. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Tehama County is starting our next training Tuesday February 27th, classes will be Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Class end date is Thursday March 15th. CASA Volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don't get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each child until case is closed and child is placed in a safe, permanent home.
