Nov 2 - Dec 29    Main Event Gallery Exhibit, ArtWalk
The Main Event Gallery, 710 Main Street, will feature art by members of the Tehama County Arts Council, Red Bluff Art Association and Tehama County Photo Club for the 16th Annual ArtWalk, sponsored by the Tehama County Arts Council. Meet the artists Friday evening, Nov. 2, 5-9 pm, while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere of art, wine, food, music and holiday shopping. Saturday the Gallery will be open 10 am – 3 pm, and the Community Art Studio downstairs will offer free children's art activities. The exhibit will remain in place through December 29th.

Nov 30 - Dec 1    Cottonwood Community Library Book Sale
The Cottonwood Community Library empties out the overflow of duplicated and donated books once each quarter and makes those good books available to the public. Some books are old-time favorites that will bring back fond memories, and some books are the latest best sellers that are duplicated in the library. The entire meeting room of the Cottonwood Community Library will be filled to overflowing with all types of books for all types of readers. Hardcover books, paperbacks, children’s books, DVD’s, and books on tape or CD will be for sale. The book sale will be held on Friday, Nov. 30 and on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 from 11:00am – 2:00pm both days. The Cottonwood Community Library is located at 3427 Main Street. Prices start at 25¢, so come early for the best selections. All proceeds benefit the Cottonwood Community Library. For more information, please call the Library at 347-4818.

Dec 4    Understanding Payroll, Payroll Taxes, Records & Functions in QuickBooks
This workshop will include State & Federal laws, and regulations regarding business payroll function, and the necessary record keeping needed to comply with these requirements. Examples of processing payroll functions will be demonstrated using QuickBooks, including discussion of e-filing both payroll taxes and forms right out of QuickBooks. A QuickBooks “how to” payroll manual & handout on the payroll function will be distributed. The trainer is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and CPA with payroll expertise.

Dec 8    Christmas Home Tour 2018
Christmas Home Tour 2018 Sponsored by the Cottonwood Community Library Each year, as a kick-off to the holiday season, the Cottonwood Community Library sponsors a self-guided home tour of five (5) homes in the Cottonwood area that are decorated for the holidays. This year’s home tour will be held from 10:00am – 3:00pm on Sat. Dec. 8th. The cost of a ticket is $20 per person. Tickets are available at the Cottonwood Community Library, at The Country Lane Christmas and Fashion Boutique on Front Street in Cottonwood, or the Tri-Counties Bank branch in Cottonwood. You will: learn what it takes to start & run your business- how to make money doing what you enjoy; brainstorm opportunities to generate enough income to make it worth your time; complete list of items needed to start your business; under-stand legal requirements i.e., license, permits; grasp how to develop a basic business plan for success; determine the amount of money you need to start & sustain your business until it is profitable; calculate how much profit you need to make in order to maintain your standard of living; discover how to manage the financial side of your business - bookkeeping, budgeting; understand that you are the boss and not an employee…and what that comes with; and implement time management practices.

Dec 15    Pioneer Christmas Party
Volunteers wearing 1850s clothing will be on hand to greet visitors and invite them to participate in some of the early pioneer Christmas traditions. Visitors can make handmade gifts including candles, gingerbread cookies, and enjoy many other pioneer pastimes. Warm wassail, coffee and treats will be served. Children will clamor to help break the traditional Christmas Bag!
