This is a 4-weeks, 2-hours a week series designed to teach you how to utilize your financial statements to better manage & understand your business operations, cash flow and profitability. The Series include: interpreting financial statements; Identifying your cash flow cycle & how it impacts your business; Learning how to calculate & use financial ratios to troubleshoot fiscal dangers & improve performance; How to think critically when looking at pricing & costs; and Developing forecast & budget techniques to improve profits. May 3    ServSafe Food Safety Training & Certification
California Uniform Retail Food Facility Law requires re-certification of competence in Food Safety and Sanitation every 5 years. Passing the ServSafe® exam is necessary to renew your certification. Training includes the National Restaurant Association ServSafe® exam and Essentials book, answer sheet & certificate. The workshop is recognized by the by the California Health Department & fulfills State Certification obligations. Learn the importance of food safety practices and how to implement them in your food establishment. Our trainer is a State certified. The Lord's Gym Mud Run is an annual, military-style obstacle race in Northern California that challenges the endurance and mental toughness of beginners and experts alike. May 6     Lord’s Gym Kids Mud Run 2018
The Lord's Gym Kids Mud Run is a special obstacle race open to all kids ages 4-12. The race course is under a mile long with 20+ obstacles involving climbing, crawling, running and, of course, lots of mud! The race is split into heats with three age groups, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12, with a longer, tougher race for the oldest kids. We also run a special competition between schools known as the Superhero School Bell, in which students win points for their schools by wearing costumes or dressing in their school colors. If you register online before May 1st, the Kids Run is FREE! Make sure to register early before tickets run out! Main Event Gallery's exhibit for May is the works by Award-winning photographer Gary Wagner, who holds a Master's degree in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography. His professional career spans more than three decades, which includes teaching abroad. He has exhibited and won awards in numerous galleries. His photographic art has been published in Lenswork Magazine, Outdoor Photographer, Digital Photographer UK magazine and Black & White Magazine where he has received awards annually for seven years. He is the author of four books on photography. Accompanying Gary's works will be photography by the Tehama County Photo Club. May 12    Girls on the Run 5K
Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in 3rd to 8th grade. During the 10-week after-school program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections and encourage community service while they prepare to run the “graduation” 5K. The GOTR 5K event is also open to the public and proceeds from the event will benefit Girls on the Run of the North State. Participants will run along the River Trail, past the Sundial Bridge, around the beautiful McConnell Arboretum before heading back the way they started.

This workshop will include State & Federal laws, and regulations regarding business payroll function, and the necessary record keeping needed to comply with these requirements. Examples of processing payroll functions will be demonstrated using QuickBooks, including discussion of e-filing both payroll taxes and forms right out of QuickBooks.
