Passages – HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program) is announcing the 2024 Welcome to Medicare Webinar series for those turning 65, or younger adults who will be entitled to Medicare due to a disability. Beneficiaries have several choices around when and how to enroll. Oftentimes understanding the different parts of Medicare, when to enroll, and which type of care is not covered by Medicare can seem complicated. Cowboy and Cowgirl Poetry Night will celebrate its 31st year in Red Bluff, Monday, April 15th, 6 pm. Western poets of all ages are invited to carry on the tradition by taking the mike and share their favorite songs and poems about the Western way of life in the form of traditional, modern or original poems and songs. The event, leading up to the Round Up will be held at the Tehama District Fairgrounds Auditorium, 650 Antelope Blvd, Red Bluff, CA, and is sponsored by the Tehama County Arts Council. Doors will open at 5:30 pm., and admission is free. Cowboy poetry originated with real cowboys sitting around the campfire telling stories of their experiences of the day, often in songs on their guitar, or as poems. Create balloon stamp art and nature sketches. Read the StoryWalk® featuring Miss Fox’s Class Goes Green by Eileen Spinelli. Sign your fourth grader up for the California State Parks Adventure Pass. Apr 26    SnoCone Social & Book Giveaway - Tehama County Celebrating Children Month
the Corning Chamber of Commerce is participating for the first time in the Tehama County "Celebrating Children" event. This event is sponsored by the Tehama County Department of Education and Early Learning Programs & Services and the LPC - Local Child Care Planning Council. The Chamber received a grant from these agencies to offer the community a, "Snow Cone Social & Book Giveaway" to participate in the celebration. It will be held on Friday, April 26 from 2:30 - 4PM at the Chamber office, 1110 Solano Street in downtown Corning. Books will be available for children of all ages and also in Spanish. Also, for the first time earlier that same day, the City of Corning will be participating as an additional location to Red Bluff's event, in Tehama County's "Children's Memorial Flag Raising" at 10AM at the City Hall Flagpole, at the corner of Solano & 3rd Streets, to commemorate a Day of Remembrance to recognize the tragedy of violence against children. The flag-raising event is co-sponsored by the City of Corning, Tehama County Social Services and Tehama County 4 Kids.
